*In 2009, I did not participate much in USTA tournaments to focus on myself and my mentality. I wanted to take time off from tournaments to find out what I wanted to do when it came to tennis. I also took time off to practice harder and truly find my game to become more confident in myself. I believe that this period of time changed my life, increased my love for the sport, and increased my self-esteem. I believe that I have never played better, going undefeated in every tennis match I have played in 2009. Even though the majority of these matches were played during the high school season, I believe that these matches were still played at a high level, therefore defeating the stereotypical belief that high school tennis lowers one's level of play and is a program that is not filled with much intensity and competition.
