TOURNAMENTS
The summer of 2009 was the first time I have ever played in a tennis tournament. It was so much fun. My goal was to try and be in the top 75 of the state and this happened! My plan is to play as many tournaments as I can this year and to play through the winter as well. The more I play in tournaments, the more I learn. Even though I don't always win, I will never give up. Most girls have played much longer than I have, but I know that I can work my way up and improve each and every time I play.

HIGH SCHOOL
June 6th of 2009, I began tennis lessons. Up until this point, tennis was a "just for fun" sport. Basketball had always been my love and I excelled at it due to beginning at a young age. Last year, when I began tennis lessons with Coach Andy, it made me realize that I love tennis. Even though I continued to play AAU basketball last summer while also taking tennis lessons, I began to think about trying to play tennis in college. Most people would think this was crazy since I was going to be a junior in high school and would have played college basketball, but Coach Andy told me I could play tennis in college if I would concentrate. It has now been one year since I began lessons and tennis is my passion. The best thing is I know that I am just beginning and will continue to improve through hard work and dedication. This year our high school team won the state championship and I was fortunate enough to be able to play both singles and doubles. Tennis is an incredible sport and I absolutely love it!
