Conference Highlights
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference NCAA II, Most matches are played in Colorado. The conference headquarters is in Colorado Springs. We play a diverse schedule which includes trips to CA, AZ, NV and HI vs D1, D2, D3 and NAIA opponents.
WNMU is located in the high deserts of New Mexico at 6000 ft. The air is clean, temperatures are moderate, and good weather 11+ months of the year. We are a small school where you will get personal attention from coaches, staff and professors. The professor to student ratio is 13-1! Our small community isn't for everyone. But if you want to focus on academics and your sport, it's pretty ideal.
Post Season Highlights
Our team will be much improved and rebuilding for future success under new Head Coach Burgos. Our goal every year is to win conference and move into regional and national competition.
Tournament Highlights
2012 season will include Springs trips to Phoenix, Colorado and California. 2013 season will include Spring trips to both California and Hawaii.
Coaching Achievements
Coach Burgos has years of success developing players to reach their potential on and off the court. He has coached on the WTA tour (not as a hitting partner but as an actual coach), has been a USTA and ITF High Performance Coach, and coached hundreds of nationally ranked players (including 3 National Champions). He has been recognized as Coach of the Year twice. I want players who have not peaked or been burned out by junior tennis. You must still have a passion for tennis, believe you can still improve, have a strong work ethic and above all, desire to be part of a TEAM.
Campus Showdowns are one-day, short-format tournaments open to juniors, college players, professionals, and adults. These events give junior players a chance to compete against college competition on a college campus.
