Conference Highlights
Marywood University Women's Tennis teams have won 9 championships and 4 runner-up finishes during the 14 years as members of the PAC Conference (1992-2006).
We became members of the newly formed CSAC Conference in 2007. Finishing in fourth place last season, our goal now is to get to the top of the CSAC and be competitive as a qualifier for a Division III National title.
Post Season Highlights
Marywood University Women's Tennis Teams have competed in tournaments, individual championships, and participated in clinics during the season, as well as, post-season play. We have traveled to Hilton Head Island, SC., Orlando, FL., Washington DC. Virginia, and Delaware.
In April 2010 the Women's Tennis Team traveled to Syracuse, NY where they were the guests of the Syracuse University Women's Tennis Team. After observing an Orange team practice session, the Syracuse Head Coach, Luke Jensen (1993 French Open Men's Doubles Champion) conducted a practice session with the Marywood Team. The following day the Pacers watched the Syracuse women play a match against Temple University. The team had a very enjoyable, inspirational, and exciting time. Thanks to Syracuse University, Luke Jensen, and his team for being such gracious hosts.
Tournament Highlights
On March 27th, Marywood University conducted our inaugural 2010 MWTI (Marywood Women's Tennis Invitational) Tournament. With 12 first place awards available to the top players, the Lady Pacers captured 9 individual first place awards. By accumulating the most points, Marywood earned the Team Championship Crystal Ball Trophy, which will remain on campus to be defended at next years tournament.
Individual Achievements
Marywood University women are not only successful on the courts, but in the classroom as well. Our team GPA averages 3.45 and we have graduated two University Valedictorians with a perfect 4.0 GPA during the last 9 seasons.
The NCAA and USA Today have ranked Marywood University in the top five as a Division III leader in three academic areas, including graduation rates of student-athletes. We also offer substantial Academic aid, specialty grants, and need based financial assistance.
