The fifth-seeded Pareja won a 6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-1 battle to claim the USTA Girls 14s Clay Courts Singles Championship over top-seeded Aishi Bisht (San Jose, California) in Plantation, Florida.

Pareja won both the singles and doubles titles at last year’s USTA Girls 12s National Championships in Alpharetta, Georgia.

“The first set was very long, about an hour and a half,” said Pareja, after her matchup at Plantation’s Frank Veltri Tennis Center. “I felt like I improved my movement and was able to be more aggressive. My forehand worked in the second and third sets. I never get ahead of myself. I just play match by match.”
