Iva Jovic and Tyra Caterina Grant captured the girls doubles title at the Australian Open with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over unseeded Julie Pastikova of the Czech Republic and Germany’s Julia Stusek on Friday in Melbourne. The third-seeded pair didn’t lose a set the entire tournament. Jovic and Grant, who are both ranked in the top 20 in the ITF World Junior rankings, recently won the Girls 18s doubles titles at the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships for the second straight year.

Grant won her second career Grand Slam girls doubles title after teaming with American Clervie Ngounoue to win the 2023 French Open junior girls doubles title.

Jovic and Grant are the sixth All-American pair to win a girls doubles Grand Slam in the last six years, joining Coco Gauff and Caty McNally (2018 US Open); Chloe Beck and Emma Navarro (2019 French Open); Savannah Broadus and Abigail Forbes (2019 Wimbledon); Ashlyn Krueger and Robin Montgomery (2021 US Open); and Grant-Ngounoue (2023 French Open).

In the boys doubles final on Friday in Melbourne, Max Exsted and Cooper Woestendick defeated No. 5 Petr Brunclik of Great Britain and Czech Republic’s Viktor Frydrych 6-3, 7-5. The unseeded tandem beat three of the tournament’s top five-seeded teams on the way to the title. Earlier this month, Exsted and Woestendick won the doubles crown at the ITF Junior event in Traralgon, Australia.

The last time Americans won both the junior doubles titles at a Grand Slam came in the 1992 U.S. Open, where Jimmy Jackson and Eric Taino captured the boys title and Lindsay Davenport and Nicole London captured the girls title.
