Spring Signing Week '16: Tiffany Huber Picks the Cards
Share:

Five-star senior Tiffany Huber has graduated from high school, and she is ready to enter the highly-competitive world of college tennis.

Tiffany Huber is heading to Louisville
Huber, who has lived in Boca Raton, Fla., for the past four years, considered a number of schools from the Big Ten, Big 12, and Southeastern Conferences. Today, she announces that she will become a member of the University of Louisville Cardinals women's tennis team next fall. Louisville is in its third season as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference - and formerly competed in the Big East Conference.

"I selected Louisville because I thought it was a great fit when I made my official visit," said Huber, who lived in West Bloomfield, Mich., prior to moving to Florida for training purposes. "The atmosphere was great, and I thought the girls were all welcoming. Coach (Mark) Beckham was exactly the coach I knew I wanted to have. He is such a great coach, with a lot of knowledge about the game, and I know he will get me to the next level."

Beckham is in his ninth year at the Cardinals helm. Prior to taking over the women's program, Beckham served as an assistant men's coach at Louisville for 15 years. He has taken his charges to the NCAA Division I Team Tournament five times, and he guided the Cardinals to a ranking as high as No. 12 in the nation. Beckham is also a Louisville grad and former standout on the men's team. He is deeply embedded in the "Gateway to the South," as he is a native of Louisville.

Huber attended the online Laurel Springs School, and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. She plans to major in business at Louisville.

Huber has won a National Open and was a U.S. Hard Courts doubles quarterfinalist. She has also won two ITF titles, one in singles and one in doubles. Huber also reached the singles and doubles finals of two other ITF events.

She holds a ranking of No. 80 in the Class of 2016 Class Rankings, and she has been ranked as high as No. 63. Huber is No. 2 in Michigan, and seventh in the Great Lakes ratings.

Huber has a heritage in the sport of tennis. Her dad, Sig Huber, played No. 1 singles for the University of California-San Diego, and was ranked as high as sixth in the NCAA Division III. The elder Huber also attained a ranking of No. 2 in doubles and advanced to the D-III semifinals. His sister, Ditta Huber, played No. 1 for the University of Southern California and advanced to the Division I singles semifinals in 1999. She was a WTA top-300 player, and she was Lindsay Davenport's doubles partner when they were juniors.
