Meet The Assistant: Keiser University's Brian Slack

They fill a crucial role in every college program. They juggle multiple responsibilities and put in long hours behind the scenes. They arrive early to hit balls, they stay late to provide advice and they keep in contact with potential recruits.

They are assistant coaches.

Although they may not get as much attention as head coaches, they are highly valued by many.

In this edition of Meet The Assistant, we profile Brian Slack from Keiser University:

Why did you get into coaching?

I got into coaching because I enjoyed the sport first and foremost. I realized while playing college tennis that I enjoyed helping my teammates in situations on and off court. I was able to learn from some private coaches and now college coaching friends what it took to be a college coach. I was given an opportunity and was immediately hooked.

What do you enjoy most about coaching?

The relationships that you build with your players through the years. I feel like I learn just as much from them as I hope they do from me during their time with me. The relationships have carried through the years and I feel like I still do a good job of staying in contact with former players.
