TOURNAMENTS

Nikki Fernando competes in the USTA state junior championships that took place Thursday through Sunday at Punahou School and The Oahu Club - she won two titles, and was one of three Maui competitors to record a first-place finish. Fernando won the girls 12 singles crown and teamed with Jessalyn Lopez for the girls 12 doubles championship, while Kylee Kato finished first in girls 16 singles. In the girls 12 singles final, Fernando defeated Keilyn Kunimoto 6-1, 6-0. Fernando and Lopez won 8-2 over Kunimoto and Trystin Lopes for the doubles title.
