Fall Signing Week 2017
Share:

At long last the Countdown is over, and Signing Week has arrived! This Wednesday, November 8, is Signing Day: the first day that high school seniors can formally commit early to Division I or Division II tennis programs. Tennis Recruiting Network and CrampsAWAY have been counting down the days for the past month, but now we switch to our Signing Week coverage.

This week is all about the seniors and college tennis recruiting. We start the week with a pair of roundup articles - including today’s Blue Chip Roundup where we take one last peek at the top senior boys and girls. Once Wednesday arrives, we celebrate the early Fall Signing Period starting with live commitment announcements.

Take a look at our coverage schedule - and then get up-to-date on the Blue Chips...

Here is our planned coverage schedule as of today, but note that things might change as recruits begin making their decisions:

A quick look at the table shows that it is filling in nicely. Since our last check in October, we have five new Blue Chip commitments. Colette Lewis covered Andrew Fenty’s commitment to Michigan, while Ryan Goetz became the second commitment to the defending national champion Virginia Cavaliers. We also saw commitments from Boris Kozlov (LSU), Jake Sands (USC), and Kevin Zhu (Penn).

Out of 27 Blue Chip seniors, only five remain uncommitted - as Danny Thomas has turned professional and signed with an agent.

There is much less movement on the girls’ side, as Maria Mateas’ commitment to Duke is the only news we have to report.

That all changes later this week, however. Both Sara Choy and Sophia Graver are planning to announce their commitments on Signing Day this Wednesday.

We will keep an eye on things as more stories develop this week … but make sure to make TennisRecruiting.net your online home for all things Signing Week!
