College Commitment
Spring Signing Week '08: Andrew Carter Decides

Yesterday was the first day of the Spring Signing Period. Seniors are now free to sign National Letters of Intent with college programs. One of those seniors is 5-star recruit Andrew Carter (Summerfield, NC) - who announces his college choice today at TennisRecruiting.net.

Carter, the top recruit in the state of North Carolina, has a strong record on the court. His strong performances in the Southern Section, his five wins at the Super Nationals (Hard Courts and Clay Courts), and his 13 victories over other 5-Star recruits caught the eyes of many college coaches. Carter considered a number of different schools.

"I looked at a very diverse mix of colleges," said Carter. "From large public schools - to small private schools - to historically black universities - I wanted to know what made each school different. I looked into each type of school."

After a great deal of research, Carter narrowed his list to five Division I programs.

"My final top five schools were Virginia, Louisville, UNC Wilmington, Illinois State, and Wisconsin."

Today, Carter is ready to announce his college choice.
