Alexia Harmon started having second thoughts about her college decision shortly after she committed to Auburn last September.

Harmon just wanted to get the process done as quickly as possible. In hindsight, she wished she would have done more research and made more visits.

“It was super stressful talking to all the different people. I just wanted to get it out of the way,” Harmon said. “But then as time started passing, I was like ‘oh gosh. I don’t see myself there.’”

After speaking to the Auburn coaches, Harmon re-opened her recruiting. The blue chip senior from Las Vegas wanted to find a school in California or Arizona.

She called the Pepperdine coaches and told them she was looking at other options. They told Harmon they would love to have her come to Malibu for a visit.

“I realized I wanted to be closer to home and be on a smaller campus,” said Harmon, who committed to the Waves in late June. “I really liked that Pepperdine doesn’t feel too big and it doesn’t feel overwhelming.”
