Commitment Profile
Grant Is Fully Committed to Tennis, Florida

Geoff Grant became a bit concerned when he saw the web browsing history on his son’s computer. Only it wasn’t the normal worry of most parents.

Will Grant had been spending his time watching YouTube videos of random tennis matches, trying to find any extra advantage to help his own game.

“His motivation has always been extremely high, to the extent he and I have arguments about my insistence that he take some time off and not spend so many hours on the court,” Geoff Grant said. “I keep telling him he needs to take a break, but he just loves to play and loves to compete. He can’t get enough.”

Will, who resides in Boca Raton, Florida, will likely be stretching the NCAA hours limit once he gets to college. After narrowing his choices down to Florida, USC, UCF and Virginia, the blue chip junior has committed to Florida.

“I feel like the facilities and everything are kind of the same everywhere, so it kind of came down to the coaches and the team. That is where Florida really stood out to me,” he said. “I am pretty close with all the guys on the team and sort of knew them pretty well, and also the two new guys coming in Sam (Riffice) and Lukas (Greif). I have trained with them for a long time and have a relationship with them.”
