Coaching Achievements
Shane Zimmerman (Devine, TX) is beginning his 9th year as a collegiate tennis coach and 4th year as the Lady Lions Head Coach. In his first year, he lead the Lady Lions to a 5th place finish at Nationals and a 4th place finish his second year. His leadership abilities are impeccable and include 2 NJCAA Women's National Championships as an assistant coach for Tyler Junior College (2000-2001). He also coached at his Alma Mater, Sul Ross State University, and at Kenyon College in Ohio where he assisted the men's team to an NCAA DIII ranking of 12th in the nation.
Throughout his coaching career he has coached 18 NJCAA All-Americans and 1 NCAA All-American. Coach Zimmerman is a USPTA certified tennis teaching professional, physical fitness specialist, and holds a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Kinesiology. During his own collegiate playing years, he was the ASC conference singles champion and NAIA National Qualifier for Sul Ross State University.
