The time has come. The time is now. Today, The Tennis Recruiting
Network kicks off its coverage of Signing Week 2013, and our slate of
articles is ready to go. Lots of articles, and lots of commitment
announcements. Lots of what you want. We kick things off today with
one final look at the Blue Chip boys and girls.
Countdown: Maize and Blue for Najarian
In spring 2012, Blue Chip senior Alexandria Najarian was hospitalized
with a condition that left her unable to eat, drink, or walk for
several days. Once she was back home, returning to a high level of
tennis was her first priority, and she earned a sixth-place finish at
the USTA Hardcourt Nationals. The commitment, discipline, and positive
attitude she displayed in her comeback are the qualities that earned
her a spot on the Michigan women's tennis team.
Both college and junior tennis feature important tournaments during
the month, while the many post-US Open tournaments present aspiring
professionals with an opportunity to boost their ATP and WTA rankings.
Throw in a memorable Davis Cup debut and the result is a multitude of
October aces, 17 in all.
