Eighteen Aces Usher In Fall
While September is always associated with the last slam of the year in New York, it also marks the beginning of a new college season and provides an opportunity for juniors and former collegians to develop some momentum for the last third of the year. Those featured below were happy to usher in autumn with outstanding performances in tournaments throughout the world.
American French Open Champion is a June Ace
June marks the end of clay season and the beginning of grass season, but it's also the month college players flood the USTA Pro Circuit in search of precious ATP and WTA ranking points. Five current college players won titles this month in the US, while former Division I stars also excelled. Add to that the first American French Open girls champion since Jennifer Capriati, bringing the number of top performers in June to 17.
